• To develop an understanding of number names through his/her enjoyment of action rhymes and songs that relate to own experience of numbers
  • To know that things exist, even when out of sight
  •  To begin to organize and categorize objects
  • To use language to describe and identify a quantity e.g. more, less, a lot, etc. 
  • To say some counting words randomly 
  • To select a small number of objects from a group when asked (3 – 5 objects)
  • To recite numbers in sequence up to 10 To represent numbers by using their own
